Headed
by Robert VanNortrick, the Prevention Division manages two programs: Fire Prevention
and Code Enforcement. This division is responsible for preventing and reducing fire losses, ensuring compliance
with fire codes and city ordinances, and increasing safety for residents,
visitors and business owners throughout the city. The goal of the Prevention
division is to safeguard the city from fire dangers and environmental
hazards through enforcement of fire regulations and public education.

Planning Approvals
In some areas of Cathedral City, the Fire Department must conduct a review
of nearly all construction projects to ensure proper code compliance. The
following document is intended to have certain issues resolved during the
planning stage of a construction project, to include: Fire Apparatus
