Fire Operations
Overseen
by Division Chief Robert VanNortrick, operations is the largest segment of
the Cathedral City Fire Department combining fire suppression, emergency
medical care, hazardous materials management, and swift water rescue. It
also includes apparatus and equipment maintenance, fire prevention
inspections of businesses and residences, along with detailed fire
pre-planning and public education.
The Emergency Medical Services section is overseen by
Fire Captain/Paramedic
Stephen Tumir. Over 80% of CCFD's front line personnel are cross-trained as
paramedics and are able to provide advanced life support measures. This
includes initiating IV fluid therapy, administering a variety of life-saving
medications, and providing state-of-the-art resuscitation and immobilization
